What is Mediation?

Mediation is a tool that facilitates an agreement between two people or entities that have found themselves on opposing ends of a situation. The goal at the end of mediation is to have reached an agreement to the settling of the issue(s) that will enable the two parties to move forward in a workable arrangement that suits all involved.

Our staff are trained in alternative dispute resolution services such as family law issues (custody, child support, divorces, etc.), small claims issues (landlord/tenant, breach of contract, collection on debts, etc.) as well as neighbor to neighbor disputes.

How Mediation works

The mediator arranges for mediation in person or online (via Zoom) to work through the issues to come up with a resolution. Parties to the mediation each takes turns giving their perspective. From there, we identify the issues, brainstorm ways to resolve the issues and at the end come to an agreement if possible.

The parties need to come to the mediation with the willingness to have an open and honest conversation. Mediators come to the mediation with their skillset in helping facilitating discussions and help parties in reaching agreements. Mediators are third party neutrals, meaning the mediators do not take one side or the other, they are there to listen to both sides.
